Located in western Canada in the north eastern corner of Alberta, Keane Creek Outfitters offers spring black bear hunting, fly-in fishing and fall moose hunting.

As our camp is only accessible via float plane, so clients are required to make their own travel arrangement to Fort McMurray, Alberta and are asked to arrive at least 24 hours before their charter departure.  We do schedule all charter flights to and from camp, which are included in their package price.  

We offer full facilities at our base camp including a guest cabin and main lodge with electricity, air conditioning, hot and cold running water and shower facilities.  Meals are home-cooked and included with all packages.

Spike camps are a bit more rugged - bag showers are available and accommodations are canvas wall tents.  Meals do consist of 'real' food cooked over the fire and camp stoves when required, so the entire meal is not just out of a can. 

Trophy care while in camp is included.  If hunters wish to have their taxidermy work done at one of our recommended Taxidermists, there is a $50 transport fee for us to take the animal to the taxidermist if they wish.  All arrangements for work should be discussed with the taxidermist prior to the hunt though.

 Spring Black Bear Hunt

Our hunting area is known for some of the largest black bears in Northern Alberta.  Hunts are baited, fully guided and historically have offered 100% shot opportunity.  All colour phases have been seen.  Transportation from base camp to the bait sites is with ATV and boats; transportation from spike camp to the bait sites is with boats.

We operate a base camp at McNalley Lake, as well as three spike camps, with two hunters per camp.  Showers are available for hunters staying in all camps.  Our season runs from mid-May to mid-June and we accommodate bow, rifle and muzzle loader.

Spring Black Bear hunts are seven days/six nights with hunt dates from May 23 - June 16

The license fee includes two (2) bear tags, one (1) wolf tag and a fishing license.  However, the "Hunt Cost" is for one (1) bear only.  To hunt a second bear, a hunt fee of $250.00 USD is required, plus a $500.00 USD harvest fee.  Please be aware that if you draw blood (wound a bear) and the bear cannot be found, there is a wound fee of $300.00 USD (This fee is applicable to all wounded bears - if you wound a bear, you may continue to hunt to fill that tag, with the harvest fee still in effect.)  If you continue to sit on a bear bait after harvesting your first bear, you are considered to be hunting your second bear.  All fees are due upon harvest of second bear and are payable in cash before departing camp. 

Fall Moose Hunts

All moose hunts are fully guided and historically have offered 100% shot opportunity.  Our moose hunts take place during the rut, allowing guides to call the moose right to the hunter. 

Hunt dates for our fall moose are September 23 - October 3.

McNalley Lake Hunt

The McNalley Lake hunt is operated from our base camp, as well as two spike camps.

The Grand Slam hunt is operated from spike camps only and are based in Zone 531 - the  Birch Mountains area.

Fly-In Fishing

Fly-In Fishing trips are based out of McNalley lake, where clients have the opportunity to fish over five different lakes.  Species that clients will encounter in these lakes are Walleye, trophy Lake Trout and trophy Northern Pike.  As the lakes being fished are not large, windy weather will not keep clients off of the water.
